Basic information about starting a career in wind energy

What you should bring along:

To get off to a good start with us, you should fulfil a few requirements:

  •  Language skills in German (B2) and English (B1)
  •  Ideally 3+ years of professional experience in the field of mechanics or electrics

Language skills

What do B1 and B2 mean? These language levels are taken from the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

B1: You can express yourself clearly, hold simple conversations and understand work instructions.
B2: You can hold technical discussions, understand instructions and communicate in writing.

These language skills will help you to familiarise yourself with the job and communicate with your colleagues and superiors. They are also very important for maintaining the high safety standards we have.

Recognition of your profession

This is how the Equivalence Check works (“Gleichwertigkeitsprüfung“)
If you have learnt your profession abroad, we recommend recognition through an equivalence test. This allows us to officially determine in Germany how your qualification should be categorised. This creates security – for you and for us as an employer.

  1. Compile documents
    Collect:
    – Graduation certificates
    – Certificates of employment
    – Proof of professional experience
  2. Get translations done

Have all documents translated into German by a certified translator.

3. Submit an application to a competent authority

Processing takes approx. 3-6 months – depending on the scope and document situation.
