The most common jobs at RTS Wind AG

Service technicians

As a service technician, you will be out and about in the wind farms on land and at sea. You work independently on jobs on the wind turbine and document the work steps. You will work in small teams to carry out regular maintenance and servicing work, similar to a car inspection. In the event of a malfunction, you will repair the wind turbines and may have to find the fault first. The work requires a head for heights, physical fitness and a willingness to travel for work.

Electricians

You will carry out electrotechnical service and maintenance work on the wind turbines, e.g. on the transformer switchgear, the generator systems, the blade angle and the rectifier. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and rectifying faults and documenting your work carefully. You will work with direct and alternating currents as well as low and medium voltages. You will travel throughout Europe and can work both on land and at sea. It is advisable to complete the advanced qualification “Service technician for wind turbines”, but it is not a prerequisite. The work requires a head for heights, physical fitness and a willingness to travel for work.

Rope access technician

Industrial climbers are used offshore and onshore where machines cannot be used. When scaffolding cannot be built and cranes cannot reach, people help out. This applies to the entire spectrum of work on the turbines: from cleaning, maintenance and assembly to repair and refurbishment. The tasks can be divided into those required on the rotor blades and those relating to the entire turbine. People working in this profession are often referred to as service technicians or rotor blade technicians.

Service engineers

Service engineers work on wind turbines after they have been put into operation. They ensure that all systems run smoothly and rectify any problems that arise. Basically, they work in service and look after customers and their turbines. However, they may also be involved in installation and commissioning. Typically, the areas of application are divided into onshore and offshore.

Offshore-Coordinator

As an offshore coordinator, you are always challenged, but the work takes place in “turns” of 14 days each. This means that you spend 14 days on site on the platform and then 14 days at home. You ensure that everything runs smoothly and take care of the goods on board. You will document and coordinate every incoming delivery and check and manage the stock. Different factors play a role here. In addition, you may also be needed for various tasks and assignments on deck.

Commercial employees

Commercial specialists in this sector are crucial for planning,
organization and management of projects that contribute to the construction and operation and operation of wind turbines.
